For the Netflix thriller Black Rabbit, food stylist Millicent Souris and her team (Greta Dana and Tamara Reynolds) created the entire menu of the fictional Brooklyn gastropub from scratch. The goal was to make the food feel like a main character: aggressively masculine, rooted in early-2000s New York nose-to-tail cooking (Spotted Pig, St. John’s), but refreshed for 2025.

They drew inspiration from the real-era Brooklyn scene, whole-animal butchery, seasonal ingredients, and a gritty, lived-in vibe, while tailoring everything to the head chef Roxie’s personality: a tough woman holding her own in a bro-heavy kitchen. The menu was written first as a full, believable restaurant menu, then broken down by kitchen station for practical on-set cooking. Production insisted the food look and feel authentic (real walk-in, labeled quarts, working grill), so every plate reflected both the story’s tension and a plausible high-end 2025 Brooklyn spot that could still pull a New York Times review.
